Gravimetric feeding machines for granules and powders
Automatically feeding a powder or granule product brings advantages in terms of feeding precision and productivity optimization, thanks to the use of an electronic weighing systems. At Itisystem, we have developed a series of volumetric, single and twin screw high precision powder feeding machines, both continuous and discontinuous with low, medium and high flow for the feeding of powders and granules in various natures and flows, wet or dry. The modular design allows for quick and easy cleaning, while a wide array of screws with various profiles guarantee perfect adaptability to any application. The bridge breaker placed inside the tank maintains the mobility of the product and ensures smooth feeding of the screw feeder; the space between the latter and the arm of the bridge breaker has been reduced to a minimum to avoid any vacuum forming.
In the case of twin screw gravimetric feeders for powders, the screw pumps, being fitted together, are self-cleaning so as to avoid incrustations and to allow the tank to be emptied, considerably reducing the exchange time of the product and minimizing the residual losses.
The containment hoppers to be attached to the feeder are made with inclined walls in order to facilitate the movement of the product, so that it slides smoothly toward the feeder, thus improving performance. In the interest of the latter, to improve the performance we also have agitators, pneumatic vibrators and fluidises available. By combining a feeder of both types with a load cell scale and with a microprocessor-based regulator, it is possible to obtain a continuous or a batch-fed gravimetric feeder.

Process automation and regulation

Itisystems produces and supplies single screw feeders without bridge breaker for granular, non-compact, dry, non-pasty and easy rolling products and materials, with various low, medium and high flow capacities. The operating mechanism consists in the input of a material, which then falls onto a screw pump with a rotary motion and which is then pulled through to the other end. The screw pumps have various profiles to guarantee their perfect adaptation to different applications. Designed and built to last, the single screw feeders do not require any maintenance. Screw pumps, hoppers, and all of the materials that are in contact with the product to be fed are made in stainless steel AISI 304 (or, on request, in stainless steel AISI 316), all carefully mirror-polished to allow for greater flow of the product itself. The screw gaskets in contact with the product are manufactured in Teflon.

The containment hoppers, to affix to the feeders, are made of stainless steel AISI 304 (or, on request, in stainless steel AISI 316). Their walls incline in such a way as to allow the product to flow smoothly toward the feeder. Pneumatic vibrators and fluidisers to ensure the flow of the product are also available.

Single and twin screw feeders can be equipped with a load cell scale and a micro-processor regulator panel produced by our company, for gravimetric weight feeding. Furthermore, depending on our customers' needs, we can manufacture a continuous or batch-fed gravimetric feeder, by applying a load cell scale and a microprocessor regulator panel.
